Governor Rick Perry of Texas called for a day of prayer and fasting for the nation in Texas on Saturday the 6th of August; Pray Lee County started praying on Monday the 8th and flash crashes in the financial markets kicked into high gear. Fear has caused volatility in the markets and Americans have lost $2.3 Trillion in personal wealth in less than 7 days.
Keep praying! This is to be the Church’s finest hour. When the world is confused, God’s children, His Kings and Priests, should not be. When the world is in fear and panic, the inheritors of His blessings should dig in their heals in courage and bravery. When we pray, and the enemy kicks up a cloud of darkness in disgust and anger, it should cause us to step on the gas not hit the breaks.
The Lord woke me up at 3:38 a.m. on Monday morning (not a usual wake up call) so I reached for my iphone Bible. I opened to a verse I had not noticed before and it brought me great courage and hope for the day and the outcome of all the turmoil in the global headlines:
Psalms 66:20 (AMP)
20 Blessed be God, Who has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being [as it always is] with me.
The moment we pray, even before a word is on our lips, we know He has heard our prayer. Hearing is not accepting all the time. Many times we pray for things that He graciously steers away from us for our good. However, the Lord directing me to scripture that says He “has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving kindness from being with me” was and is HUGE for me and for you as well.
Corporately, when we are praying the 8 Points of Prayer, know this Church, He is not rejecting our prayers. He stands ready to deliver unto us a great harvest for His glory–we are asking for right things–earth agreeing with Heaven! (you can shout out loud now)
Personally, I took great comfort in the verse for my family and my company for the issues I labored for throughout the day and this week. He is faithful to His promises and ‘He watches over His word in order to perform it’. Yes, the God who created the stars by ‘breathing them out of His nostrils’ is faithful to every promise He’s made.
No matter what you are going through, know that He is faithful and will bring you through the storm.
