Harvest Time – Releasing the Laborers

Release laborers into the harvest fields. Open their eyes to the opportunities around them to present the love of God in the areas that He has placed them (work, home, church and other activity zones) in order to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

If you’ve been following the order and theme of the prayer points you might recognize a pattern, we’ve asked God to intervene within the life of the believer to get prepared; a timely preparation for the work of ministry with renewed and focused hearts; purity of the Temple of the Holy Spirit; activating people into their ministry….and now releasing them into those ministry efforts in fields ripe for harvest.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field”

I have heard many people over the last several weeks say that we need to get prepared to receive a harvest–”get ready! get ready!” is what I’ve heard.

Living in Florida, I’ve watched citrus groves come and go, but the one thing that isconstant is that when fruit is on the tree, someone has to go pick it! I don’t know why we can’t just get fruit from the tree to the storehouse without picking it.

Interestingly enough, I believe we desire for people to come to church and get an eternal life with Jesus, but the way we act is like expecting fruit to jump from the tree to the grocery store for our convenience. I think it’s a safe bet that we’re going to have to get out of our comfort zones and get into the harvest field–and it may be just where you are sitting reading this email in your business, your church (yes your church), your neighborhood; wherever God has placed you is THE open harvest field reserved just for you!

Pray for the harvesters because the fruit is ready!
