Pray for Peace over all of Lee County-all cities, towns, neighborhoods and streets.
Recently, I found myself in the North Carolina mountains over looking a lake. As I surveyed my surroundings and quieted myself, I could literally feel the peace and tranquility of the area-it was tangibly thick around me-it engulfed me and brought peace to my body, soul and spirit.
When we pray for the peace of God to fall over a city, we are asking Him to release His tangibly thick peace that transcends all understanding. Certainly, anyone who is aligned with Christ would be able to pray for God’s peace to come to every man, woman and child so they could begin to perceive the love of God toward them.
There is a lot of anxiousness in the world today, Lee County is no different; as men and women of God seeking peace, the bible promises them that they have a future. While we are praying for the blessing of peace on someone else, we access another beautiful promise of God-and He is always faithful. (Ps. 37:37)
“Happy are those who strive for peace-they shall be called the son’s of God” Matt. 5:9
The bible also tells us in Romans that ‘all creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed’. When we pray for and seek peace for a city or a region, we reveal ourselves as sons of the living God. Why? Jesus came so that we could have peace with the Father-He brokered peace for us and expects us to broker peace with and for others to turn many hearts back to Him. This is the mission in the Commission.
Make this declaration, even today before the season of prayer begins….
Father, we declare your peace over the people of Lee County; peace that breaks through our current understanding of the world and it’s systems or even our own circumstances; we declare peace that allows us and others to perceive and receive your great love toward us.
